Campaign Tags
Campaign Tags is the Pilot tool that puts a label on any set of campaigns. A tag has no effect of its own; other screens offer it as a filter or a target (see Good to know). Pulse Pilot's own words are on Pulse Pilot Vocabulary; Amazon terms are in the Amazon advertising glossary.
Open Tools → Campaign Tags. The left column holds the tags; the right panel holds the campaigns in the selected tag. Each control below is marked Required or Optional.
Left column
Create Tag. A text box and an + Add button. The button is disabled while the box is empty. A name that already exists shows "Tag already exists". Adding a new name selects it and opens the right panel with no campaigns in it.
Filter tags. Optional. Narrows the tag list to names containing the text.
Tags list. One row per tag with the number of campaigns carrying it and a delete button. Clicking a row selects it; clicking it again deselects it. Delete asks for confirmation, then removes the tag from every campaign that has it.
Right panel
Header. The tag name and its campaign count. Remove All appears when the tag has campaigns; it asks for confirmation, then takes the tag off every one of them.
Campaigns in this tag. One row per campaign with its state and a remove button. Removing takes the tag off that campaign at once. The table controls at the top right change the grid display.
Add Campaigns. A search box. Type to search; every campaign in the account is searched by name, including SB and SD campaigns, and campaigns that already carry the tag are left out of the results. Clicking a result row adds the tag to that campaign at once.
Upload
Template saves a CSV with three columns: Campaign Name, Tag, Action.
Upload CSV takes a .csv or .txt file with those columns. A first row starting with "campaign" is treated as a header and skipped. Action is add or remove; a blank Action means add. Tags are stored in lower case. The Upload Preview window lists each row as Ready or with its error (missing campaign name, missing tag, campaign not found, or an action that is neither add nor remove). Apply N Change(s) applies the Ready rows and leaves the error rows alone.
Good to know
- A tag with no campaigns does not persist. The tag list is built from the campaigns that carry tags. A tag you create and leave empty is gone after the page reloads; add at least one campaign to keep it.
- Where tags are used. The Campaign Creator's Step 1 (see Campaign Creator) attaches tags to a new campaign. Automation and negation rules have an Apply To Campaign Tags setting. Budget Pacing can hold a budget per tag. The Campaigns, Keywords, Search Terms, Product Targeting, Negatives, Harvest Log, Campaign Mapping, Rule Assignments and Dayparting pages offer a Campaign Tag filter, and the Campaigns page edits a campaign's tags in its row.
- One tag list for every campaign type. SP, SB and SD campaigns share the same tags.
Pulse Pilot automates your Amazon advertising — bids, dayparting, search-term harvesting, and budgets — and shows you the receipt for every dollar it moves.
