Keywords

The Keywords page, the Keyword Manager, is the Pilot list of every keyword in the account's SP and SB campaigns with its bid, state and numbers for the chosen date range. From here you change bids and states one row at a time or in bulk, add keywords as negatives, tag them, and enrol them in rank tracking. Words such as match type, bid and ACoS are explained in the Amazon advertising glossary; Pulse Pilot's own words, such as Autopilot, Copilot and protection, are on Pulse Pilot Vocabulary.

Open Performance → Keywords. Each editable control below is marked Required, Optional or Preselected. Required means the value is checked before it is saved.

Date range

The date bar sets the range the numbers are summed over: Today, Yesterday, 2d, 3d, 7d, 14d, 30d, 60d, 90d, All Time, or a custom start and end. Preselected (30d); remembered between visits. With Today selected, ACoS, ROAS and CPA carry a dagger and are marked provisional, because Amazon revises attributed sales after the day closes. The Performance Trends chart above the table plots up to three metrics for the range.

Filters

The filter card collapses with the chevron in its corner.

Search. Optional. Rules with a mode and a value, all of which must match the keyword text. Modes: Text (contains, starts with, ends with, equals, does not contain), Word (has word, has any of, has all of, has none of, comma-separated), Length (word count or character count with a comparison) and Advanced (regex, fuzzy match).

Campaign and Ad Group. Optional. Multi-selects; empty means no filter.

Campaign Tag and Keyword Tag. Optional. Multi-selects from the Campaign Tags and Keyword Tags pages; a row must carry every selected tag.

Match Type. Preselected (all). Broad, Phrase, Exact.

Status. Preselected (all). Enabled, Paused, Archived.

Managed. Optional. Autopilot and/or Copilot. While the management list loads the table shows no rows and a note.

KPI Filters. Optional. Min and Max for Impressions, Clicks, CTR, Spend, Orders, Sales, CVR, CPC, ACoS, ROAS, CPA and Bid. Blank means unbounded. For ACoS, CPA and Bid a Min drops rows with no value and a Max keeps them.

Clear. Resets Search, Match Type, Status, the KPI boxes, Campaign, Ad Group and both tag filters. It leaves Managed and the date range as they are.

Export. Downloads the filtered rows as a CSV: keyword, match type, status, bid, the range's numbers, campaign, ad group and tags.

Columns

Columns (N) opens the picker; Keyword cannot be hidden. Drag a header to reorder, drag its edge to resize; the table options control switches grid lines, the crosshair and the zoom.

The columns: Keyword (with an AUTO badge for auto-campaign rows, the copy icon, the Autopilot or Copilot badge, the protection chip, an SP or SB badge, the AMZ link and the quick-view icon), Match, State, Bid, Suggested $, then Impr, Clicks, CTR, Spend, Sales, Orders, ACoS, ROAS, CPA, CPC and CVR for the range, Top IS%, Units, NTB Ord, NTB Sales, NTB%, Sales 14d, ACoS 14d, Sales 30d, ACoS 30d, Campaign, Ad Group, Track Rank, Organic Rank and Sponsored Rank, and a Tags cell at the right end. The NTB, 14d, 30d, Top IS% and Units columns form the advanced group, which collapses to a + tile.

Suggested $ is Amazon's suggested bid for the keyword; hovering shows the range Amazon gave. A dash means Amazon returned none.

Organic Rank and Sponsored Rank show the latest tracked position for the campaign's advertised ASIN; hovering shows when it was pulled. Rows that are not tracked show a dash.

The table shows 200 rows per page; the footer offers 100, 200 or 500.

Sort

Click a column's chevron. The same column flips direction; a new column starts descending. Preselected (Spend, descending). Match, State, Suggested $, Campaign, Ad Group, Track Rank and the two rank columns do not sort.

Per-row actions

Keyword. Click the text to open the keyword's full detail page. The AMZ chip searches Amazon for the text in a new tab. The quick-view icon opens the keyword window (below).

State. The glyph toggles enabled and paused; archived rows do not toggle. A DP chip next to it means an active dayparting rule covers the keyword.

Bid. Click the value to edit; ✓ or Enter saves, ✗ or Esc cancels. Required, a number; a blank is ignored. An hourglass shows while the change waits to be sent. If the keyword's campaign is under Autopilot or Copilot, the protection dialog opens first (see Bid protection).

Protection chip. Shown while a manual bid is protected; clicking it removes the protection and hands the bid back to automation at once.

Campaign. Opens the campaign page in a new tab.

Track Rank. A checkbox. Ticking it enrols the keyword in the Rank Tracker against the campaign's advertised ASIN; unticking removes it. It is disabled when the campaign has no advertised ASIN. A message reports when the account's tracked-keyword allowance is used up.

Tags. The tag editor: type a new keyword tag, or click a pool chip to add or remove it.

The keyword window

Quick view opens the keyword with its own date range, KPI cards, chart and Bid Change History, plus a small action row: a bid box with Set $, Inc % or Dec %, Apply Bid, Enable, Pause and Add Negative. Required for Apply Bid, a number above zero.

Bid protection

A bid you set on a keyword that Autopilot or Copilot manages would be changed back by automation on its next run. The dialog that opens on such a bid asks how long to keep yours: 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 30 days (Preselected), Until 20 clicks, Indefinitely, or Don't protect, which sets the bid now as automation's new starting point. When the keyword already has a protection that does not match one of those, Keep current protection is offered and preselected. Cancel leaves the bid unchanged. The bid is queued first and the protection recorded second; if the protection fails, a message says the bid was set but automation may change it back.

Bulk actions

The header checkbox selects every filtered row across pages; row checkboxes select one. The bar shows the count and how many are in Autopilot-managed campaigns.

Adjust Bid. A window with a mode: Set exact bid ($), Increase by (%), Decrease by (%), Increase by (+$), Decrease by (−$) or Set to CPC, which gives each keyword its own CPC for the range. Required, a value; Apply stays disabled while it is blank. The four relative modes take an Optional Clamp result Min $ and Max $. The Preview shows the first three keywords before and after, and for Set to CPC how many will change, how many are already at CPC and how many had no clicks. Results are rounded to the cent and never go below $0.02. Managed keywords open the protection dialog once for the whole batch.

Enable / Pause. Queues the state for each selected keyword. If any is in an Autopilot-managed campaign, one confirmation appears; cancelling stops the whole batch.

Archive. Asks "Archive N keyword(s)?", then queues it. Archived keywords cannot be restored.

Add as Negative. Opens the negatives window for the selected keywords. Required, at least one match type (Negative Exact is Preselected; Negative Phrase can be added) and at least one destination. The source ad group is pre-ticked; Add destination finds other campaigns by search or tag and adds an ad group or, for SP, the entire campaign. A term that is already negative at its source is marked and skipped there. Negative phrase entries longer than Amazon's limit are skipped with a note. The result line counts what was added, what already existed, what was skipped and what failed.

Tag. Required, at least one tag ticked. Apply the keyword tags to the selection; a new tag can be typed and created in the same window.

Clear. Empties the selection.

Good to know

  1. Bids and states are queued. A bid or state change waits, marked with an hourglass or a dotted glyph, until Pulse Pilot sends it to Amazon. If Amazon refuses it or the account's live writes are off, the row reverts and a message says so. Tags, protection, Track Rank, Export and negatives are immediate.
  2. The Campaign Type filter does nothing on this page. Its four options can be ticked and cleared, but the list is not filtered by them. Use Campaign instead.
  3. There is no per-row archive. Archive is a bulk action; select the row first.
  4. Clear does not reset Managed. Untick Autopilot or Copilot in the Managed control to see every row again.
